Meet Amber
I am passionate about working with:
- Children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulty regulating their emotions.
- Adults, adolescents, and children who are seeking healing from past trauma or abuse
- Parents who are having trouble connecting with their children
- Families who are experiencing conflict and want to move toward gentler ways of relating to one another
- Individuals who have experienced a loss of hope or direction for their lives, or feel “stuck”
- Couples seeking pre-marital counseling
- Individuals struggling with low self-esteem, lack of self-worth, and shame
A closer Look:
“When people cross my threshold am I positioning myself to reduce them to a disorder or am I seeing their originality. What is their wonderfulness? What is extraordinary about them?” - David Marsten
I desire to create a space free of judgement for everyone who enters my office, where they can be fully seen and fully accepted exactly the way they are. I want my clients to feel safe in this space. Safe to grieve, safe to grow, safe to share their whole hearts, safe to be who they are, and safe to transform.
I believe in the transformational power of connection and relationship; it would be an honor to share that experience with you. Through generative conversations and a systemic lens, I seek to collaborate with you in order to expand possibilities and develop deeper meaning for your current situation. You can trust me to hold your story, treating it with care, while lifting up fresh perspectives on this chapter of your life. I will do my best to walk alongside you, and sharing the burden of the things you carry. I will join you in the despair of all that breaks your heart - and in the joy of every small victory (if you’re up for it, I’m always game for a happy dance together around the office). Your story, your journey, your burdens, your heartbreak, your victories - all of it is beautiful and it all deserves to be felt.
I have worked with children in some capacity for the past 23 years. From babysitting, to camp counseling, to advocating, to my clinical work, to being a mom of my own three little boys. I have a wide range of experiences with children and I bring them all with me into the therapy room. Each child is different and special in their own unique way. I have a strength-based approach that seeks to understand the magnificence of each and every child and the root of their behaviors.
One of my favorite parts of being a therapist is witnessing families work together to overcome patterns that aren't working for them so that they can build the thriving relationships they're desperately seeking.
My own journey through trauma, addiction and healing has grown in me a deep sense of compassion and empathy for others who are walking through similar circumstances.
I would love to hear your story. If you think I would be a good fit for you, please contact me today. You do not have to walk this road alone.
