couples Therapy

Welcome to

Repair miscommunication, increase understanding, and cultivate connection with skillful, compassionate partner therapy.

Feeling stuck on an issue in your relationship with your partner – even when you’re working hard to resolve it - can feel frustrating, painful, and even terrifying. Because dynamics among intimate partners can be complex and feel extremely high stakes, partner therapy with a couples therapist who can both support each partner and provide a professionally-trained, third-party perspective can be a catalyst for real, transformative change.

I’m Hannah Boggs-Nieman, LFMFTA, and I love being a couples therapist because I’m passionate about helping folks experience healing and joy within relationships. Your struggles and strengths as partners are unique, and I’m here to provide personalized, responsive support toward your particular goals for your relationship.

Support Is Here

My overarching goal in working with intimate partners is not only to bring relief to points of distress but to help folks reconnect and enjoy one another! As a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), my approach considers context as a major factor – whether that context is what messages we get from society and culture, what we experienced in our relationships with our caretakers growing up, how our unique brains work, or any number of other aspects of our lives.

Therapy with me is also collaborative - I believe
your unique perspective is crucial to our process, and I’ll be offering up questions,
thoughts, and tools in response to what we explore together.

My training in multiple couple therapy modalities equips me to adjust our approach as needed according to your feedback on how therapy is going. Integrating research- and evidence-based practices into our work together, I am certified as a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and have completed an externship in Emotionally Focused therapy and Level 1 Gottman Training.

In other words, I use a variety of approaches to support partners, including assessment and helping partners understand their relationship’s strengths and challenges, strengthening partners’ bond and emotional connection, and teaching
practical skills for better communication and conflict resolution.
