Our Focus
While we each have our own personalities, interests, and style we share common focal points that are central and important to all of us.
How we approach our work
Viewing You: Resilient, Resourceful, Valuable
We see you, our client, as a fellow human being who is valuable, resilient, and resourceful.
We believe that each person has worth and dignity that is uniquely expressed and experienced. We trust that all of us have reserves of strength and courage that can stretch and expand, especially during times of challenge. We respect that everyone we meet holds a wealth of knowledge, experiences, gifts, and graces that we aim to honor and highlight.
Viewing Ourselves: Self-reflective, Thoughtful, Open
We strive to embody our role, as your therapist, in a way that is open, thoughtful, and self-reflective.
We enjoy continuously learning from our clients, our peers, and our own life experiences. We prompt ourselves to examine and re-evaluate our perspectives and assumptions, both about our clients and our clinical work. We prioritize searching within ourselves for growing edges and blind spots; we seek to be changed by our work as we help those we work with seek change.
Viewing Our Shared Process Together: Contextual, Emergent, Co-created
We conceptualize our shared process with you, our client, as contextual, emergent, and co-created.
We see the intricate variables and external influences on your life and relationships and will work with you to navigate both your outer and inner worlds. We trust that the way forward will come into view a little more fully with each shared conversation; we will neither hurry you nor leave you standing still. We count on you to be an active collaborator in the work we do together and will actively seek your assessments and insights into what works best for you.
