Meet Amanda
at a glance:I’m an open and affirming therapist, always striving toward cultural competency while living into cultural humility. I see and honor you, the client, with acceptance and grace, while collaborating with you to facilitate the growth and change you seek. I can imagine it may not feel like it, but I believe you are ultimately the expert in your own life, and through conversation we can discover and uncover the answers lying in wait.

Here’s a sampling of the people I love to work with:
- Couples as they begin building their lives together
- Couples who feel committed to their relationship but are finding themselves struggling, be it with balance of home/work life, love in the time of COVID, managing children as well as romantic love, and more…
- People who are wondering about their identity in the face of life’s pressures and (sometimes its limitations)
- People of any age who don’t feel like they’re “living up to their potential.”
- Parents wondering how they lost themselves along the way
- Young adults and older teens struggling with self-acceptance or a healthy sense of self
- People looking for a change in lifestyle or career
- People struggling to maintain healthy relationships within their families
- Anyone pondering and ready to discuss what it all means...
A closer Look:
Feeling disconnected? Maybe you’ve lost your way? Living on the surface of this life? Let’s have a conversation about that because at its heart that’s what therapy is- a conversation between us. I believe these conversations can empower and inform the change you seek. I believe every person on this planet has a story to tell and stories they tell themselves. I want to hear yours and walk alongside you as we discover what is next for you in this life. How we perceive and language our experience matters. I look for and lift up strengths that may have been missed. Often when we humans are in distress, we can miss the good stuff.
Through our work together, I'll share with you essential tools for change such as mindfulness practice to cultivate an awareness of the self. In an effective working relationship as therapist and client, you'll discover how to move from reactivity to intentionality in ways that create space for new outcomes in your life.
Emotions and values experienced in our therapy room include (and may not be limited to) welcoming, acceptance, grace, curiosity, patience, resilience, humor, compassion, validation, collaboration, generosity, strength, vulnerability, silliness, honor, mindfulness, awakening, and freedom. If what I’ve described here speaks to you, I would love to hear from you. Let’s have a free preliminary conversation and see if we are a good fit. I’m energized by the therapeutic process and look forward to talking with you!
